I thought about writing this message in September, before the Noite de Processing meetup with André Burnier, that was really cool (and we recorded it), 10 ways to “mistreat” letters, the idea being the font outlines can be accessed with Geomerative library, one of the great Processing libraries for which I tried to collect examples in Python mode this year, even if I didn’t get very far (here and here). I reviewed my arc-drawing functions and other helpers, please ignore the mess…
I tried a little a library called Flat creating some mini-sites in Flask that generate SVG, you can remix and experiment with them at glitch.com/@villares, check some examples at: sketch-2020-09-06flat.glitch.me/ sketch-2020-09-12flat.glitch.me/ west-classy-beard.glitch.me/
On the Glitch platform, it costs USD 10 per month to keep 5 active projects accessible immediately (so they won’t sleep and you don’t have to wait for the server to wake up). I received enough donations to keep them up for about 5 months, but I’m not very hopeful. Speaking of infrastructure, domain and hosting costs, also in dollars are getting heavy with the Real going down. I appreciate every contribution at gumroad.com/villares.
I really had little energy for anything but thanks to the push of some friends I didn’t stop completely (I hope to be able to show some projects next year as they wrap up). Pensei em escrever esta mensagem em setembro, antes da Noite de Processing com o André Burnier, que foi muito legal (teve gravação inclusive), 10 maneiras de “maltratar” letras, o ponto é que os contornos das fontes podem ser acessados com a biblioteca Geomerative, uma das bibliotecas bacanas de Processing dentre as que tentei coletar exemplos no modo Python este ano, mas não avancei muito (aqui e aqui). Revisei minhas funçoes de desenhar arcos e outros helpers, não repare na bagunça.

Sobre essa plataforma, Glitch, custa USD 10 por mês para manter 5 projetos ativos acessíveis imediatamente (sem que eles durmam e você precise esperar o servidor acordar) recebi doações suficientes para manter por uns 5 meses, mas não estou lá muito animado.
